With the move to Greenville, the
7 year old HP VL420 XP system was retired and the primary desktop PC is now
the homebrew ECS2800 VISTA system. It is getting old also, and the
current plan is to gut the VL420, and use its rugged, spacious cabinet to
house a new system based on the Intel i5 processor.
That is Grandpa Miller's old rocking chair there that he nearly always sat in through much of the day at one end of his sun porch. He must have put many miles on it over the years, and I have too. It has always been the reading chair in my study since I built the study/workshop room in the garage in Johnson City back in the mid-80's. |
The small porch on the front of
the new house afforded a pleasant place to read or snack, but we soon found that
insects in Greenville are more prevalent and more determined than we found them to be
previously in either Johnson City or Alpharetta. And I got to thinking about
the screened porch my parents had in Wisconsin Rapids and how much it was
used and enjoyed by our family Before long Joyce and I began to think seriously about screening in the existing open 12' x 12' deck on the back of the new house. In a short time the decision to go ahead and contract the work was made and in a month it was done! |
