These are BIG planes. Wingspans of 3 meters and up. Too big to launch from a bungie cord or a winch. Instead, they are launched in the same manner as full-size gliders - towed to altitude by a tug like the red one shown here and on the preceding page. |
And they are scale planes
- patterned to duplicate a full-sized sailplane on a smaller scale.
Great lengths are gone to in order to achieve realism. I swear this guy looked like he was breathing. |
