The first PCS User Group annual meeting was held at Ashville's Grove Park Inn about 60 miles south of the TI facility in Johnson City.  Here Tom Hart makes a point to several attendees.  Kate Richter looking on was also a TI-JOCY employee.

There were several great bicycling opportunities near Johnson City.  One favorite , the Viginia Creeper was an old railroad grade turned bicycling trail from Abingon to White Top Station - 34 miles one-way.

The near by ETSU campus and the VA Hospital provided scenic areas with minimal traffic to contend with,

The city built a bicycling/jogging trail generally following the State of Franklin road from the main Hospital to the K-Mart area in North Johnson City.

And the I-26 Interstate highway while it was being built, but before it opened to traffic was a great ride from Erwin to Sam's gap on the NC border.
Accompanied by Todd and Lori, we rented a beach house on NC's Outer Banks (north end of Avon on Angelfish Ln.).

In '94 Joyce and I had explored the length of Outer Banks in my Nissan Pickup, but this was the first time we rented a beach house and stayed in one place for a week. Thus began our tradition for yearly beach vacations that continues to the present day.
